The TORCH collective is a multi-arts group dedicated to creating new socially conscious work. The quartet comprises Brian Kai Chin, trumpet; Eric Likkel, clarinets; Steve Schermer, bass; Bonnie Whiting, vibes and percussion. The group’s name is inspired by the Thomas Mann quote, “Art is the sacred torch that must shed its merciful light into all life’s terrible depths.”
